Jacob was born and raised in Lexington, NC. He spent a lot of his early golf years hitting the driving range with his late grandfather. From there it excelled into playing competitive golf through middle and high school.
Jacob's lifelong passion for the game of golf is the foundation of the Chisdaddy Golf at Sapona. Growing up immersed in the sport, Jacob developed a deep appreciation for its challenges and joys, leading him to pursue a high level of playing ability. His journey as a player and teacher has been shaped by his formative years at Campbell University, where he learned from some of the industry’s finest, including mentorship from Ryan Dailey and other highly accredited PGA Professionals.
At Campbell, Jacob honed his understanding of teaching philosophies, blending time-tested techniques with innovative approaches to player development. His time there also enriched his technical expertise, particularly in club repair and building—a skill set that allows him to tailor equipment to meet the unique needs of his students, ensuring they are equipped for success.
Jacob’s teaching philosophy is built on fostering a love for the game, developing sound fundamentals, and creating measurable pathways for improvement through tools like Operation 36. His passion, technical knowledge, and personalized approach make him a standout coach, inspiring golfers to achieve their goals and enjoy the game for life.
